Celine can be considered a master of hardware. In its early years, the brand offered an endless variety of buckle designs, truly pushing the boundaries of creativity. Even now, new and unseen buckle styles occasionally surface in the vintage market, offering delightful surprises! Some styles from that era were produced in very limited quantities, or were special custom orders, making them incredibly rare and known to very few. In its early days, Celine did not engage in the mass production typical of large corporations today. Instead, it operated more like a niche brand, producing a wide variety of styles in small batches. This beautiful era of "a hundred buckles in full bloom" was unique to its early period (Perhaps I was born too late? I missed seeing it...). This Triomphe round charm is exquisitely detailed. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice numerous mini Triomphes encircling the large CELINE Triomphe in the center! Even this small round buckle exudes a rich texture, with incredibly fine engravings that are simply not found on modern pieces. I've kept one of these for myself; it's a stunning, beautiful milky beige color! This is the exact same style and color as the one I own, a true user of this piece. The first photo shows how I've modified the bag's chain strap, using a long necklace chain – a similar necklace is also available separately. It's rare to find a creamy beige in such pristine condition! I know many customers love light colors but hesitate to buy bags in them, especially creamy beige, because they fear it gets dirty easily. I understand! Most of my own bags are dark colors. Honestly, compared to dark colors, beige is definitely less resistant to dirt. However, if you choose the right material and use protective sprays, it's absolutely not prone to getting dirty. Among my personal collection, I have two beige bags, and this one is one of them. The leather on this particular style is quite resistant to scratches and wear. Of course, it's best to use a leather waterproofing spray; with a spray, it truly becomes very dirt-resistant! When you pull the bag forward to access its contents, the bag and chain typically move forward together. With most bags, the chain is directly attached to the bag, so the chain resting on your shoulder can rub against your clothes as you pull it forward. This bag's chain, however, does not cause such friction! Because the chain on this bag "passes through" the bag via the metal rings on the flap, when you pull the bag forward, only the bag itself moves. The chain doesn't move with the bag, so it won't rub against your clothes! More importantly, the chain won't scratch the bag's leather due to movement. Hmm... the description might be a bit complex in writing, but you'll understand the benefits of this small detail when you use it. I absolutely adore this compact square bag; it's both beautiful and practical. "Chain bags" are a must-have in any woman's wardrobe, suitable for formal occasions, when a sophisticated look is required, or for special dates. The visual effect of a leather strap bag versus a chain bag worn on the shoulder is entirely different, offering two distinct vibes. Even with the same bag, switching to a chain strap can elevate the overall feel of luxury. Therefore, I believe a chain bag is essential. For instance, at a formal dinner or an upscale gathering, a simple solid-colored dress paired with this bag will be a striking accent. The milky chocolate color looks stunning when worn – a beautiful "Miel" shade! The bag is made of lambskin, soft and comfortable to the touch. This rare "Miel" chocolate color shows no signs of yellowing or discoloration. The front and back of the bag have no noticeable scratches, scuffs, or peeling. The stitching is firm with no loose threads. It has a natural sheen. The bottom, edges, and corners show no scratches, scuffs, or wear, and no peeling. Even the corners are free from abrasion! The leather shows only minimal signs of use, such as fine texture visible upon close inspection, which is a natural occurrence after use. The hardware where the chain passes through and the chain itself show minimal signs of use. The original chain is a beautiful, radiant gold. The interior lining is very clean, with no peeling, powdering, or aging issues. The small interior zipper is smooth. The interior brand tag is intact. The key Triomphe round charm on the front is extremely clear and detailed; upon close examination, you'll see many mini Triomphes surrounding the large Triomphe. The craftsmanship is exquisite, and the hardware is beautifully golden, with no obvious oxidation or gold loss. It's also rare to find it with the original tag and dust bag! Overall, the bag is exceptionally clean, the leather is intact and lustrous, with no obvious flaws or dirt! A versatile and rare chocolate color. This is my second chocolate-colored bag of this style that I've acquired; the previous one was over a year ago. I'm fortunate to have found another. The struggle for petites is real... having to put in effort while appearing effortless! But I've gradually learned that it's possible to achieve this without overdoing it. Besides clothing, shoes, accessories, and bags can all be adjusted over time. Finally, I'm able to achieve that casual, natural, sophisticated look without appearing to try too hard! Among bags, chain bags were something I only recently came to appreciate their necessity. Primarily, it was difficult to find suitable sizes and styles – something elegant and a bit luxurious, yet manageable for a petite frame, and ideally a rare piece (vintage means avoiding commonality...). I also hoped for durability and versatility, most importantly, a size that doesn't overwhelm my height, and greedily, practicality – small yet functional! In the past, most pre-owned items were handmade, with the warmth of human touch rather than mass production. The craftsmanship of artisans is undoubtedly much more refined than that of machines, just as everyone appreciates products handmade by skilled craftspeople! However, today, the vast majority of processes are automated by machines with minimal human assembly, losing the delicacy of the past. I believe the simplest and most direct way to see this is by comparing the detailed patterns of recent brand revivals with the original vintage monograms. The level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is completely different. If you love monograms, you must look for pre-owned items! Truly! In terms of style, older eras favored a more simple, timeless, and enduring aesthetic. Many current designs are actually reproductions of older styles. However, new collections are priced higher than vintage ones. New designs are typically based on older models, with added details or design modifications. The final product often ends up being more complex (or strange......) than its predecessors. I believe as we grow older, we realize one thing: the simpler, the more enduring! As we age, even our clothing tends to return to basic styles because the more fundamental, the more versatile. The quality of materials in older collections is also superior to newer ones. Anyone knowledgeable about leather can tell that the materials used in new collections are mostly of a lower grade than those in vintage pieces. This is mainly because the cost of high-quality raw materials is too high today, and their availability is less than before; Earth's resources are dwindling! Furthermore, brands back then did not have the "ubiquitous" presence of countless stores like they do now. Their clientele typically had a certain income level and high expectations for the finished product. There was no "fast fashion culture" back then; a bag was expected to be used for many years. The difference between new and old eras is clearly visible in the hardware. Many new bags' hardware oxidizes and discolors after just one or two years of use, but vintage pieces typically do not. Besides the use of high-quality materials and meticulous techniques, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with real K gold! It's worth mentioning that Chanel Vintage is expensive for a reason; many of its buckle and chain components contain real gold, certified by gold merchants! Therefore, even vintage bags from the 60s and 70s, if well-preserved, can still gleam today. As for new collections available now, to my knowledge, none of the hardware contains K gold, making them prone to oxidation. Many people say that buying vintage bags is a form of alternative investment, as they rarely depreciate and often appreciate in value. This is because the number of well-preserved pre-owned bags on the market is decreasing. Each one is a discontinued item; the number that exists in the world is all there is, so they will only become fewer, more expensive, and harder to find. Moreover, many brands increase their prices periodically, and each increase drives up the prices in the pre-owned market. If a brand releases a "reissue," the vintage reference or similar styles will see a sharp price increase! Add to this the recent trend of Japanese and Korean celebrities favoring vintage pieces; once a particular style is seen on a celebrity, its price skyrockets. It truly soars because, for a period, many people will frantically search for that style or a similar alternative, causing the prices of those few items to multiply... Therefore, vintage is truly "buy early, enjoy more; buy late, pay more" (this is not an advertising slogan... it's the truth in the pre-owned world...). This is my personal experience; I regret not getting into some collections earlier... I can't find them now, and even if I do, they come with an exorbitant price tag... But the problem is, even knowing it's an exorbitant price, you're forced to buy because waiting for the next one will only mean a higher price (unless the condition is poor).
