DAPENG BAY: 3952 Laoshanyáng - A special edition named after a famous Taiwanese landmark, designed for grand calligraphy. Crafted from solid rosewood, this natural wood model showcases subtle grain patterns on the pen barrel, offering an understated elegance (natural wood grain, high-quality product shipped randomly). The pen is accented with accessories made from raw brass, finished with a gunmetal plating. It features a twist-action airtight cap and a specially designed spring-loaded clip.
This pen is offered with a selection of calligraphy nibs for pen enthusiasts: Rose Gold/Two-tone Calligraphy Steel Nib, and Standard Calligraphy Titanium Nib.
The Rose Gold/Two-tone Calligraphy Steel Nib is a direct nib from a German Bock #250 (#6) Rose Gold/Two-tone steel nib, meticulously hand-ground by Laoshanyáng artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing strokes with distinct thickness variations, akin to a brush pen. It offers a responsive writing experience, allowing for beautifully varied Chinese characters and the expression of your unique taste.
The Standard Calligraphy Titanium Nib is a direct nib from a German Bock #250 (#6) standard titanium nib, hand-crafted and adjusted by Laoshanyáng artisans into a calligraphy nib that captures the charm of a brush pen's varying stroke widths. It offers a different tactile sensation, possessing more flexibility than a steel nib, and provides a responsive writing experience that allows for richer, more nuanced strokes.
**Gift Set Includes:** German SCHMIDT K2 Converter (inkless) + One handmade black genuine leather pen sleeve by a Taiwanese master craftsman (style shipped randomly) + 3952 Laoshanyáng premium pen box packaging.
Pen Dimensions: Total length approx. 150mm, barrel and grip section approx. 105mm, maximum diameter (excluding clip) approx. 14.5mm, total weight (excluding nib) approx. 52g.
Hand-ground and adjusted calligraphy nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is recommended to start by dipping the nib in ink for writing (do not remove the converter installed in the barrel, to prevent ink backflow into the pen body after writing). This allows for breaking in and adapting to the nib's characteristics. After some time, use the converter to fill with ink for writing.
2. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib that has been ground and adjusted to have a curved tip. The variation in line width is not solely achieved by pressing down, but by the angle at which the pen is held, utilizing the nib's curvature to create different line thicknesses. Holding the pen more upright, with less contact area between the nib and the paper, results in finer lines. Holding the pen at a more oblique angle or applying slight pressure increases the contact area between the nib and paper, producing broader lines. The ability to write thick or thin lines depends on your proficiency (each nib has a certain tolerance for pressure; avoid excessive force to prevent nib damage or misalignment. It is recommended to place a writing pad under the paper when writing).
In response to environmental protection, we do not proactively provide gift bags. If a gift bag is required, please specify this in the order notes after purchase. Thank you.
Images are for reference only. The product is a single pen. Some photos may show slight color variations due to lighting and angles; the actual product prevails.
Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen barrel and cap. When storing the pen upright, do not point the nib downwards for extended periods.
Warm reminder: When writing, do not press down excessively on the nib or write with the nib angled too far left or right (for right-handed users, it is recommended to hold the pen so the nib points towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This prevents accidental misalignment of the iridium point, which can cause scratching and ink flow issues. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink from drying and clogging, which can affect writing quality.
