For calligraphy nibs, it is recommended to start by dipping the nib in ink for writing (do not remove the converter installed in the barrel, to prevent ink backflow into the pen body after writing). This allows for breaking in and adapting to the nib's characteristics. After some time, use the converter to fill with ink for writing. 2. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib that has been ground and adjusted to have a curved tip. The variation in line width is not solely achieved by pressing down, but by the angle at which the pen is held, utilizing the nib's curvature to create different line thicknesses. Holding the pen more upright, with less contact area between the nib and the paper, results in finer lines. Holding the pen at a more oblique angle or applying slight pressure increases the contact area between the nib and paper, producing broader lines.
