1950s Vintage American Nib, Eagle E130 Manhattan Stub Dip Pen Nib

Produced in the 1950s By the American Eagle Stationery Company E130 Manhattan Stub nib, made of alloy. Offers a smooth writing experience with a stronger, less flexible feel, not ideal for English calligraphy. Features excellent ink capacity, suitable for extended writing sessions, and accommodates both Chinese and English characters. When writing Chinese characters, a slight adjustment at the turns will prevent ink blobbing. The ink used in the reference photos is from Staedtler (not shellac-based ink). The paper used is Double A copy paper. Notes on Vintage vs. Modern Nibs: Vintage nibs feature thicker metal and more intricate craftsmanship. Made from original metal (not plated), they are easier to use immediately with minimal break-in time. They offer superior ink retention and are generally more durable. Important Usage Notes: 1. No pre-heating or scrubbing with a toothbrush is required before use. 2. Some nibs may have factory-made horizontal or vertical scratches on the tip; these are intentional marks made by the manufacturer to ensure immediate usability upon purchase and are not defects. 3. If oil contamination affects ink adhesion or flow (e.g., from hand contact or wax on paper), simply wash gently with soap, dry thoroughly, and it will be ready for use. 4. Clean and dry the nib promptly after use. Allow it to air dry completely before storing to prevent rust. 5. Minor rust on the pen body does not affect writing, but rust on the nib itself will. These vintage/antique nibs are discontinued. All available units are new from collection stock, sold while supplies last.
