Bone china pastry plates from the Sweet Violet series made by Royal Albert

Vintage English bone china pastry plates from the Sweet Violet series made by Royal Albert. Thomas C. Wild bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent in 1895. This factory had been named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's Consort. It specialised in tea, breakfast and dessert pieces with floral designs, and it soon gained a reputation of producing beautiful china tea & breakfast sets, firmly establishing the Royal Albert name. The "Sweet Violets" series was in production from 1966 to December 2001. The pastry plates are in good condition with some surface marks due to usage and a little wear on the gold.
