Through their name tags, I learned about many of the street trees near our home: Sterculia lanceolata, Caryota urens, Delonix regia, Juniperus chinensis, Delonix regia, Handroanthus chrysanthus, Acacia confusa, Ficus, Melaleuca... After observing trees closely, I discovered the infinite variety and imagination in their forms and leaves. I especially love the Delonix regia; its leaves feel so light and gentle, like feathers, beautifully complementing its fiery red flowers. My son likes the Melaleuca, saying they shed their bark at night and grow new skin in the light. . These 12 small postcard calendar cards each feature references to the trees and leaves we photographed on our walks, documenting our cherished family time. The text is presented in a conversational style, using words related to trees. The Chinese and English are not direct translations; they invite imaginative connection, hoping that the images and words complement each other, fostering a dialogue with trees and with oneself. . The calendar cards are stored in a small wooden box with a card stand. A notebook and pencil are also included, so you can sketch and record flowers during your walks. The handmade paper leaf bookmarks hold leaves and flowers we collected on our strolls. This miniature wooden box, holding small treasures, resembles a tiny museum, where each item is carefully placed and then taken out to be admired. . A hand-painted natural wood tag is included, with each one being unique. I find this green on the natural wood particularly vibrant, a shade of green I adore. I've also dressed up the main character, Baozai, in his favorite blue-green plaid, essentially gathering all the things I love. . /Beneath the trees, walk with intention, converse with care.
