"Neriage" is a technique in which colorful clay that has been colored with pigments is kneaded together and patterns are created using the centrifugal force and the expansion and contraction of the clay when pulled on a potter's wheel. The patterns that are produced vary depending on how the clay is kneaded and the time and effort spent on turning the wheel, allowing you to enjoy the unexpected. This time, I aimed to create a vivid sunset gradation. The soil was layered to evoke the blue and pink colors of the sky as the sun sets. The clay used is coarse white clay. You can enjoy the texture and feel that only pottery can provide. The glaze used is a transparent glaze with a beautiful luster. This bowl is large and is recommended for drinks such as matcha, or for dishes such as soup or stew. It can also be used as a dessert bowl to put cut fruit along with pudding or ice cream. The plump, round shape and soft curves make it gentle and fit comfortably in the palm of your hand when you hold it in both hands. Please enjoy it as a colorful addition to your dinner table. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and all processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand.
