Agarwood from Kalimantan | Top-tier Xingzhou Region - Rich and Cooling Aroma
Within the Xingzhou agarwood producing regions, agarwood from Kalimantan has long been recognized as a representative of high-quality agarwood. Located in Indonesian Borneo, Kalimantan is a vast island, about fifteen times the size of Taiwan, yet with a relatively sparse population. This allows for the preservation of extensive virgin rainforests, creating an ideal environment for the growth and resin formation of natural agarwood trees.
In recent years, due to over-harvesting, the yield of natural Kalimantan agarwood has rapidly declined. Agarwood that forms high oil content and rich fragrance has become exceptionally rare. High-quality Kalimantan agarwood circulating in the market today is often found by chance, possessing significant collection value.
Kalimantan agarwood is renowned for its stable and rich aroma. The initial scent is distinctly woody, followed by a natural cooling sensation intertwined with balsamic notes. Some aged pieces may even exhibit a soft floral and fruity sweetness. The overall fragrance is layered, warm, and substantial, offering a pleasant experience that doesn't become tiresome, making it beloved by agarwood experts and enthusiasts alike.
Currently, Kalimantan aged agarwood that has been stored for over thirty years is even more precious. This type of agarwood was often preserved by collectors from previous generations, and through time, its aroma has become more mellow and stable. Its availability on online platforms allows collectors to browse and purchase with peace of mind, offering immense value whether for daily enjoyment or long-term collection.

Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, Kwood’s background is in craft design. He once wandered the streets of Japan, experiencing how wooden art breathed warm and profound life into ancient alleys. Objects that seemed like fragments of time, carrying traces of history and the contours of the future, sought a subtle balance between opposition and harmony, transforming into delicate works that closely connected the vision of the new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once ground into powder for appreciation, was solemnly placed in the most prominent area of homes in Japan, symbolizing vitality and brightness.
The agarwood wood originates from its source, pure and flawless, untouched by artificial processes like glue binding, line drawing, or fragrances. It is presented in its most original form, where through ancient scent-extraction techniques, the outer layer of deadwood is meticulously stripped by hand, revealing the true soul of the agarwood. This not only bestows it with eternal vitality but also allows tradition and modern craftsmanship to subtly intertwine at the fingertips, creating a feast for the eyes and the senses. Its rich aroma is like the condensation of time, gently drawing together past memories and future aspirations, allowing them to meet and resonate within the fragrance, continuously extending, distant, and profound.
