Because the tribe historically cultivated abundant native persimmon species, and the Amis name for persimmon is "Alupal," the village was named Ci alupalan, meaning "a place with many persimmons." ALUPALAN utilizes local native persimmon species and common plant extracts to brew dye liquids, harnessing time and climate to present a unique artisanal craft of plant dyeing on fabric, distinct from conventional methods. Characterized by its earthy tones, persimmon dye embodies a grounded personality. The interplay of natural elements and objects serves as a constant reminder of nature's embrace. Product Notes: Due to variations in pattern and hue from each batch of dyeing, items are shipped randomly, and specific patterns or colors cannot be selected. Care and Washing Instructions: 1. After purchase, please avoid storing the product in damp places or exposing it to prolonged sunlight. 2. Hand washable with a neutral detergent, such as a small amount of soap or dish soap. Soak for one to two hours. For noticeable stains, gently rub by hand before rinsing with clean water and drying in a shaded area. Low-temperature ironing is acceptable. 3. Slight fading during the initial wash is a natural phenomenon for naturally dyed fabrics. Any odor present is the natural fermentation scent of persimmon dye.
