Material Description: The heavily used 14k gold-plated material in the mixandfun design studio features a layer of 1/20 14k gold electroplated onto a brass surface. This has become a popular choice in recent years, known for its ease of care, longer-lasting color, and more accessible price point compared to solid 14k gold. Solid 14k gold, on the other hand, is entirely 14k gold throughout, with a gold content of approximately 58.5%, complemented by silver, iron, or copper. For Taiwan's climate, solid 14k gold offers even more effortless care and a more refined color. It's also a considerate option for those with sensitive skin. Custom alloy is another material we frequently use. For this, mixandfun carefully selects unplated chains that we personally favor, then applies a special electroplating process. This ensures that the color remains vibrant for a considerable duration under normal wear. Wearing Precautions: 1. It is recommended to put on your jewelry after dressing and remove it before changing into loungewear at home. Avoid wearing jewelry while showering. Bathing in hot springs and swimming are strongly discouraged. 2. For earrings, we suggest using the provided silicone stoppers to minimize the chance of loss. 3. Given Taiwan's warm and humid climate, if jewelry is not worn for an extended period, gently wipe it with a soft cloth before storing it in a sealed bag. 4. For delicate chains, develop the habit of fastening the clasp when removing them. This helps reduce the likelihood of tangles. 5. Please understand that 14k gold-plated, solid 14k gold, or custom alloy pieces will naturally show signs of wear over time. 6. A little care tip: If you notice your jewelry has oxidized one day, don't worry. You can place a small piece of aluminum foil in a bowl of water with a pinch of salt. Submerge solid gold or sterling silver jewelry for about 10 minutes, then remove it. It should regain its shine. (Material ratios may vary slightly between brands). It's advisable to start with less expensive silver pieces for practice. 7. You can place solid gold or general alloy jewelry in your palm, use an old toothbrush with a small amount of toothpaste, and gently brush for about half a minute.
