This bracelet is made of tokcha, old Tibetan turquoise, ancient agate, Mizoram carnelian, ancient crystal, gold and red white hearts, and old Indian Silver charms.
The slightly larger flower-like parts are tokchas (Tibetan amulets said to have been brought from the heavens by the god of thunder) from Tibet.
This was included in the beads.
This metal part is made of cupronickel and has a heavy feel to it, as well as small scratches that come with age, making it a cool looking metal part.
(Size of Tokucha: width 1cm, length 1.1cm, thickness 0.5cm)
The old Tibetan turquoise is about 100 to 200 years old. (It may be even older.) It was given to me by someone who went to Tibet and bought it. Turquoise is also known as the Fallen Skystone. It has been used as a sacred Stone in various countries since ancient times.
In Tibet it is sometimes used as medicine and is one of the Stone that has been passed down and worn for thousands of years.
This is a turquoise with a three-dimensional expression and charm.
(Turquoise size: width 0.9cm, height 0.9cm, thickness 0.5cm)
I put one small ancient agate in it. This agate was excavated in Afghanistan.
You can see beautiful stripes and gradations.
These are cool beads that have a worn and rustic feel due to age!
(Size of ancient agate: 0.5cm width, 0.8cm diameter)
The orange beads are Mizoram carnelian. They are heirlooms from the eastern Indian state of Mizoram, dating back to the 18th century.
The deep orange colour, like a ripe persimmon, is very appealing!
There are some scratches and other imperfections, but even with those, these beads are very tasteful.
(Size of Mizoram Carnelian: Width 0.6cm, Diameter 0.6cm)
The ancient crystal was excavated in Afghanistan and dates back to the Roman period, about 1,500 years ago.
It has a beautiful gentle oval shape.
There are some small scratches, but when I think about how it has aged, I find those to be quite endearing.
*There is some slight chipping, but this does not affect normal use.
(Size of ancient glazed crystal: 1cm width, 0.65cm height)
The deep red beads are antique beads called white hearts. They are so named because the core (heart) is white. These beads were made in Venice around the 19th or 20th century. The deep red color is due to the addition of gold.
These are rare beads called Gold Red White Hearts.
(Size of gold red white hearts: 4mm)
For color, I added a single emerald blue Indian Pacific bead.
The origin of Indo-Pacific beads is said to be in the 2nd century BC. These beads were excavated in Indonesia. They date back to the 10th century, making them over 1000 years old!
The vase-shaped part that holds the tokcha, old Tibetan turquoise, and ancient agate is old Chin Silver. It is a heirloom from the 18th to 19th century. This was brought from Burma.
These beads were used by Chin women to make necklaces and have a unique look of wear and tear and lovely scratches. The weight and presence of these beads cannot be compared to modern Silver(although there are some cool modern ones out there...). These beads are really rare and expensive!
The golden beads and the charms like an anchor next to the ancient agate are old Odissa bras. These are old and rare beads from Odisha, India.
The charm on the clasp is Silver Indian silver, made in the 19th or early 20th century.
I think that by wearing it a lot, a unique shine will emerge.
Depicted in the centre is Lord Shiva (Lord Bel).
(Size: 1.7cm length x 1.4cm width (including loop))
The bent clasp and the beads on the ring are made of Karen Silver.
Each small Silver silver bead on the clasp is engraved!
It's mind-boggling to think that it's all done by hand...
◇Karen Silver ◇
This Silver is made by the hill tribes living in Burma.
Each piece is handmade and is said to be of very high purity.
It is connected with waxed string, so it is a little stiff at first, but it will become more flexible as you wear it.
This bracelet evokes thoughts of materials from various countries and eras.
