Born into a family of Kutani ware artisans, Taishi Yamachika grew up immersed in the world of this traditional Japanese pottery. From the five classic Kutani colors—red, green, purple, yellow, and navy blue—he discovered the beauty of color and learned the art of free expression, creating a fantastical and uniquely personal worldview. This fan comes complete with a pure cotton fan pouch crafted using the traditional Takashima shrinking technique passed down since the Edo period, and a sturdy fan case.
