1. All olive wood products from "Visiting the Forest" are made from natural raw wood. They are pre-soaked in maintenance oil before shipping, giving them a honey-wax color. It is normal for the color to lighten after the first few washes and wipes; applying oil will restore its natural hue.
2. During the first few cleanings, natural light yellowish-brown substances or maintenance oil may rinse or wipe off olive wood products. This is a natural phenomenon, so please use with confidence.
3. When cleaning, use warm or cold water with a soft cleaning tool. After washing, wipe off any remaining moisture and allow it to air dry in a well-ventilated area before storing.
4. If the product absorbs odors (e.g., from raw meat), you can wipe it with cold water and white vinegar, then rinse thoroughly.
5. For stubborn stains (e.g., from steak), use a baking soda paste to scrub the stained area with a cloth or brush.
6. Do not expose directly to sunlight or place in humid environments with rapid temperature changes.
7. Do not use in dishwashers, dish dryers, or ovens.
8. Regular maintenance: It is recommended to apply food-grade wood oil or natural beeswax to the product surface monthly to maintain its natural luster.

1. Olive wood products are entirely handmade from solid wood. To ensure the suitability of each piece and highlight the most beautiful grain patterns, there may be slight variations in size. The presence of minor wood grain and hairline cracks is a natural testament to solid wood craftsmanship. Some product edges may feature treated bark or knots.
2. Regardless of the wood's quality, prolonged immersion in water or failure to dry can lead to mold. Prolonged sun exposure can cause wood to bleach. Therefore, we store our finished olive wood products indoors. Each product will have slight variations in size, weight, thickness, and grain pattern, as they are not mass-produced by machines. You will notice beautiful features like wood knots and natural pores.

Q: Are your products made from a single piece of wood?
A: "Visiting the Forest" strives to ensure all products are made from a single piece of wood. If a product is not made from a single piece due to design, we will clearly indicate it. Please pay attention to these details!
Q: Do you have a recommended maintenance oil?
A: Before shipping, "Visiting the Forest" applies a layer of wood kitchenware maintenance oil (NSF-3H certified food-grade mineral oil). *We highly recommend food-grade mineral oil and natural beeswax for maintenance. However, please remember NOT to use olive oil to maintain your olive wood products, as this can cause spoilage or rancid odors.*
Q: Why does my olive wood product feel oily, and why are there oily marks on the packaging paper?
A: Before shipping, our packaging staff at "Visiting the Forest" will re-apply maintenance oil to all olive wood products. Therefore, it is normal for your product to feel slightly oily. We take care to wrap all olive wood products securely to prevent the maintenance oil from transferring to the packaging paper. If there are minor transfers, there are no safety concerns. We appreciate your understanding.
Q: Why does the color change completely after the first wash and drying compared to when I first received it?
A: The color will naturally change! Each wash removes some of the maintenance oil, so the color will differ from the initial honey-wax tone. Restoring the color is simple: in addition to the recommended monthly maintenance, you can apply a thin layer of maintenance oil after drying the product to maintain its hue.
Q: Can olive wood cutting boards be used for chopping large fish and meat?
A: Absolutely! You can use them just like your previous cutting boards.
Q: Does olive wood have a lifespan?
A: A well-maintained piece of olive wood can last for decades. With no joins, there's no risk of disintegration, and without lacquer, there's no peeling. Even with significant knife marks, it can be restored with basic sanding. However, for food hygiene and safety, we strongly recommend using separate cutting boards for raw and cooked foods for a healthy and long-lasting solution.
