To depict the garden scene outside the window, I used lapis lazuli for the blue sky and malachite, with its unique, individual striped patterns, for the vibrant greens. For the grey tones used in the tree trunks seen outside and the vases on the table, I incorporated labradorite. Its allure lies in the way its calm grey base reveals an aurora-like shimmer depending on the angle. Yellow shell was chosen to represent the fruits and flowers placed upon the table. By layering deep blues and greens over the vivid red, and adding the delicate shimmer of grey and yellow, I have crafted a three-strand necklace that harmonizes the bold colors of Matisse's painting.
