On your turn, you may: 1. Use a charm to acquire pond expansion tiles, or pay a premium price to purchase a koi. Charms can be obtained by taking the action to upgrade pond edges. 2. Choose one of two actions: "Meditation" allows you to draw cards from the game board to suit your needs. In addition to obtaining cards with different effects, depending on the space you draw from, you can also gain coins, acquire pond expansion tiles, or purchase koi. "Work" allows your master and assistant to take action, adding your owned pond tiles and koi to the pond. The game ends with scoring based on the number and size of koi, pond landscaping, and the number of charms. Additional points can be earned for achieving objective cards. The player with the highest score wins, becoming the imperial family's master koi pond landscaper!
