|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nourishes jade for three years, and jade nourishes a person for a lifetime."
Crystals have powerful energy fields but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, possesses a warm and gentle nature. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate (NaAl[Si2O6]), often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and ferrous iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily functions throughout all life stages, from youth to adulthood and old age, fulfilling important physiological roles. It is an indispensable macromineral for human health and longevity.
Trace element "chromium" (Cr) is crucial for maintaining normal physiological functions, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and aiding in blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. It can enhance insulin sensitivity in type 2 diabetics, help obese individuals manage cholesterol and blood sugar, and is lost at a faster rate in individuals under high stress. Therefore, these three groups particularly need chromium.
Trace element "nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically have 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed portions largely excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of dietary nickel is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains manganese. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "magnesium" (Mg) is also a macromineral essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is necessary for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal nerve and muscle function, working synergistically with calcium. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which is relatively high in calcium and magnesium, have lower mortality rates from cardiovascular diseases. Thus, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "iron" (Fe) aids enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it an essential trace element for the human body. Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function properly.
Medical research suggests that jadeite possesses powerful healing properties. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Relieving Chest Tightness: For individuals with weaker constitutions who sometimes experience chest tightness, wearing a jadeite pendant can be beneficial. The jadeite pendant emits energy that massages the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, potentially providing a lasting solution through continuous massage.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have the following benefits: "clearing internal heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, benefiting the five organs, calming the spirit, clearing blood vessels, and improving sight and hearing."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the harmonious balance of physiological functions in various organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite jewelry, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can be in direct contact with the skin. Mineral elements from the jadeite enter the body, nourishing the skin and making it appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Relief: The naturally cool property of jadeite offers a soothing and cooling sensation. In the Tang Dynasty, Consort Yang Guifei would place jade in her mouth during summer to relieve heat. Since then, jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants have been used for cooling relief during summer.
The above are evidence-based reasons for the benefits of jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is that looking at jadeite can bring inexplicable comfort and relief when feeling down or stressed, as if receiving solace.
