Traces from Nothingness Features of This Book The Renwu International Reading Club has rewritten "No Trace," addressing the challenges encountered. Writing Taiwanese using Han characters is not always complete; when characters are insufficient, new ones are created, or sounds and meanings are borrowed, leading to rare characters without consistency, making them difficult for readers to decipher. How can one find the correct character on a computer using the pronunciation of "original Taiwanese characters" spoken by scholars? This is incompatible with the way computers write in the technological age. Therefore, an international Romanization system is needed. Tones in Taiwanese should be represented by symbols to allow Japanese reading companions to instantly understand semantic differences. For example, "好了" (hó à) vs. "好啊" (hó ah!), and "風吹" (hong~chhoe) vs. "風箏" (hong-chhoe). Writing Features This section on Taiwanese POJ (Pe̍h-ōe-jī) adheres to "Normative Linguistics," pursuing "symbols determine pronunciation," respecting "tone sandhi," and pioneering "subject-predicate tone markers~" in Taiwanese writing. Through four stories, "precise Taiwanese writing" is achieved; "what is spoken is written," "the tip of the pen writes the tip of the tongue," and "write my words with my pen." Writing novel dialogues in vernacular Chinese allows for accurate transcription of everyday speech, with clear meaning. The Japanese portion was movingly translated by the Taiwanese literature enthusiast Mr. Toshikazu Ogawa, who meticulously researched and considered each word, rewriting the entire novel into Japanese.
