Fine-grained white clay that makes the glaze color pop. Lustrous turquoise blue with fine crackles, reminiscent of southern seas, and a warm, slightly off-white matte glaze. This medium plate is crafted by combining these elements. A medium plate is typically about 15-18cm in diameter, making it suitable as a generous side dish plate, a plate for a single serving entree, or a dessert plate. Its vibrant yet gentle colors will brighten your dining table. Turquoise blue pairs beautifully with colors like red, yellow, deep green, and white. Consider serving it with salads like leafy greens or pumpkin, or sauteed white fish with tomato sauce. It's also wonderful for fruit tarts or lemon cakes. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, and you can enjoy the subtle nuances that come with handmade items. If both are in stock, you may choose your preferred one by letting us know at the time of purchase. To ensure minimal scratching of your table, the base will be sanded smooth before delivery. I explore various glazes and clays, seeking the best combinations, and create a diverse range of pottery in various colors and shapes. These pieces are unique, seemingly similar but impossible to replicate exactly. I would be delighted if you could find a favorite among them. Therefore, we apply a waterproof treatment using a food-safe sealant before shipping, so there is no need for initial glazing (a "me-zome" treatment). This waterproofing process requires 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from order placement. Please let us know at the time of purchase if you do not require the waterproofing treatment. - Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. - The plate appears whiter under fluorescent or morning light, and more yellowish under evening light or incandescent bulbs. - We strive to photograph and edit product images to be as true to the actual product as possible, but colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions.
