Thank you! We have consistently created original designs of solid wood spoons for use with tea, as dessert dishes, fruit plates, or for display purposes. The wooden spoon pendants were initially conceived as distinctive accessories for the designers in our studio, but they were so well-received by customers that we have now launched this series. Aged cypress wood is exceptionally rare. **The aged wood in our studio is sourced from old furniture, and the beams and pillars of old houses in my hometown.** While larger pieces of wood are used for substantial creations, only smaller offcuts are fashioned into accessories. These are **limited edition custom pieces, embodying the rebirth of old materials.** **Please note: This is not a one-of-a-kind listing. Due to the natural characteristics of wood, while the shape of each piece may be consistent, the grain patterns will always differ. Your understanding is appreciated!** **Important Note:** For custom-ordered wooden spoons, you have the option to receive the wood in its natural, unpolished state (allowing it to develop a patina over time with handling and wear) or have us apply edible walnut oil. The oil provides a patina-like finish similar to prolonged handling, without affecting the wood's natural fragrance. **> Cypress Wood** Cypress, alongside pine, is considered the **"foremost among all woods."** Wang Anshi's commentary on the character "柏" (bǎi) explains it as relating to "伯" (bó, meaning elder or leader), hence its construction with the "白" (bái, white) radical, signifying its esteemed status. Cypress wood, due to its resin content, dries slowly and possesses exceptional resistance to decay. Cypress trees grow very gradually; the two ancient cypress trees in my childhood home have remained largely unchanged in size to this day. This slow growth contributes to cypress wood's fine, hard texture, with smooth, distinct, and elegant grain patterns, and a dignified natural color. Fresh cypress wood tends to be lighter in hue. Aged cypress, however, has a deeper color and a more mellow, pleasing fragrance. **With the passage of time, its color deepens from light to dark, exuding an aesthetic of rustic elegance.** ∨ We firmly believe that "wood" is a material with warmth, and its colors and textures are imbued with natural stories. By merging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, cherishing the inherent beauty of wood, and bringing nature into daily life has always been our guiding principle.
