<Introduction to Hetian Jade>
Hetian Jade is one of two recognized types of jade in gemology, classified as nephrite. It is characterized by its fine texture, possessing a smooth, lustrous, almost oily feel. Chemically, it is a silicate of calcium, magnesium, and iron, with a hardness of 6-6.5. Due to variations in its elemental composition, Hetian Jade exhibits a range of colors, with black jade being a prominent representative of this dark hue. Revered since ancient times, Hetian Jade was particularly favored by imperial royalty during the Qing Dynasty, where it was regarded as a precious treasure.
