**Vintage items inherently possess the character of their age, but this does not affect their functionality or aesthetic appeal. Please consider this carefully if you are sensitive to such details.**
👀 Please be aware that measurements are taken with a tape measure and may have slight discrepancies, which is normal. Since jewelry is not perfectly flat, the dimensions provided represent the longest and widest points.
🖤 This listing is for one necklace only; other items shown in the photos are for illustrative purposes.
**Before Purchasing:**
💚 Please send us a message to communicate if you have any questions before buying.
💚 It is nearly impossible for metal jewelry from the 1940s-1980s to be completely free of fading, discoloration, or minor rust spots and imperfections. We ask for your understanding on this matter.
💚 We strive to present the product clearly through photographs on the listing page. We kindly request that you examine the images and descriptions with care.
💚 Vintage jewelry is, by nature, an aged product that has weathered the passage of time and will absolutely bear traces of use.
💚 The jewelry in this shop is not altered in style; for example, clip-on earrings will not be converted to post earrings.
💚 For those new to "Vintage Jewelry," we encourage you to consider your purchase very carefully before proceeding.
💚 If the item arrives damaged and is unwearable, a refund can be issued. However, returns or refunds requested due to reasons such as "not as imagined," size discrepancies, color variations, or damage not caused during transit will not be processed.
**Brand Story:**
The "Jonette Jewelry" company, operated by Abraham Lisker, began its operations in 1935 under the name "Providence Jewelry Company." However, in 1937, when his brother Nathan Lisker joined the company, it was renamed "Lisker & Lisker." Seven years later, after World War II, the two brothers decided to rename the company, merging the names of their parents, John and Etta. Thus, "Jonette Jewelry Co." was established in Rhode Island in 1944. From 1970 onwards, the company's name became JJ, and later, each piece was marked "© JJ."
The company's founder, Abraham Lisker, retired in 1972, and the new head was his son, B. Gordon Lisker.
Gordon Lisker began outsourcing some of the company's production to other firms. In 1986, he registered the name "Artisan's," and the Roman numerals MCMLXXXVI were used on jewelry cards. In 1988, a Southwestern line with the "Santa Fe" mark was released, signed "JJ 1988." Unfortunately, after 62 successful years of operating the family business, Jonette Jewelry Co. ceased production in September 2006.
JJ jewelry is highly sought after by collectors for its unique designs, making it easily recognizable. These are not merely decorations, but works of art.
The company primarily focused on producing uniquely designed, novelty brooches. While other jewelers imitated antique jewelry, the owners of this company concentrated on creating brooches and pins in various amusing character forms. In addition to jewelry, Jonette Jewelry Co. also produced letter openers, picture frames, watch straps or bracelets, bookmarks, candlesticks, and more. JJ masters used materials such as brass, pewter, alloys, sterling silver, enamel, and resin when creating their jewelry.
