New Taiwan Blue Magpie & Xiaolongbao Beaded Ornament

The Taiwan Blue Magpie — with its bright blue feathers and bold, echoing call — is one of the most iconic birds of Taiwan. If you’ve spent time here, you’ve probably seen its striking figure in the trees. It’s Taiwan’s national bird, often said to bring good luck with its long, graceful tail. I painted this beloved local bird perched atop Taiwan’s famous xiaolongbao and turned it into a beaded embroidery ornament. (It wasn’t easy to capture… but yes — that’s a dumpling, not an egg!) Layers of shimmering blue sequins sparkle beautifully among the lights of a Christmas tree. Each ornament is lovingly handmade by skilled artisans. Because of the handcrafted nature, every piece has its own unique expression — please enjoy the individuality of each little bird.
