A rare enamel watch with a truly unique dial! It opens and closes normally! Crafted from metal, gold plating, and enamel, it has a substantial feel and is in good condition. There are minor, unnoticeable spots and fine lines that do not affect its aesthetic appeal or usability. The watch strap is quite old and, while still functional, we recommend replacing it with a new one. The watch is not currently running, and the condition of the movement is uncertain, so it is sold as-is. Dial diameter: 1.5 cm, thickness: 1 cm. This watch is suitable for wrist sizes up to 14 cm. The enamel on the dial is quite special, isn't it? It's a technique called Guilloché. Guilloché is an enameling technique achieved by engraving patterns on a metal surface using a rose engine lathe, and then applying enamel over the engraved design. Tracing back to the 17th century and the "rose engine" craft of that era, it later gained popularity during the Victorian period and was applied to other materials, including banknotes and some toys. Guilloché is most commonly used to adorn watch dials, as well as enameled brooches and pendants. The result of the engine-turning application is that vibrant hues are enhanced by transparent enamel laid over the carved surface. * Care Instructions - Wipe with a dry cloth. - Do not use a silver polishing cloth.
