Small Vintage Mandarin-Shaped Carnelian Earrings

These are small earrings featuring vintage, mandarin-shaped carnelians. The charming, ribbed mandarin-shaped carnelians are vintage beads from China. Beads of this shape can also be found among Edo-period Japanese beads (Wa-dama), as well as in China and among the Naga people. These carnelians have a delightful, plump shape and are in good condition. They appear to be handmade, which is reflected in the subtle, lovely randomness of the ribbing width. There are variations in color, and they radiate a beautiful, warm glow when held up to the light. (Carnelian size: 0.8cm length, 0.8cm diameter) The decorative element above the carnelian bead is made of silver. It is German silver overlaid with sterling silver, featuring delicate craftsmanship that is simply adorable! The floral component below and the French hooks are also silver.
