Precautions for storage About silicon accessories

**This is not a product page, so please do not put it in the cart.** When you purchase an jewellery from me, you will receive a silicone cover for your screw earrings, a silicone catch for your earrings, and a silicone brooch stopper for your brooch, as accessories. Today, I would like to give you some information and requests for you to store your silicone accessories. As silicone ages, oil can seep out and stain the surroundings and your jewellery. This deterioration can happen as early as a few years. If you are not going to use it for a while, remove it from your earrings or brooches and store it in a separate bag that can be thrown away, separate from your jewelleries. It is important that you can keep your jewellery for a long time. As oil seeps through the silicone, it loses its softness and becomes a brittle piece of plastic. The color will also change. Transparent ones turn cloudy white and creamy ones turn brown. When this happens, it is completely useless as silicone. Please get a new one. If you unused it, please keep it in the package bag you bought it in and store it in a place where it won't get too hot, so it will be easy to keep it in a near-new condition for a certain period of time. The reason I'm telling you this story out of the blue is because I've had an unfortunate experience with silicone just recently. Heart Bouquet keeps samples of jewelleries that we have sold in the past to current. The samples are the first production of each design, for photography, for model to make them for resale, for observation of how they have aged, and also for my personal tresures. They are all my favorites which I want to keep them with me. I found some of these earrings, which I have left their with silicone covers on. They were in a plastic bag with a zipper so there was no damage to the surroundings, but the earrings were stained with oil and the silicone itself was still tickling on the fittings and not coming off. Since the motifs are made entirely of glass beads, the oil was cleaned up by wiping them with disinfectant ethanol. Alcohol has a degreasing effect. The coloring process on the surface can dissolve in the alcohol and cause the color to fade or discolor, so I had to check on them while wiping them. When taking the earrings out of the bag, it seemed to be better to cut the bag open with scissors so as not to move the contents of the bag so as not to stain the earrings unnecessarily with the oil that wet the inside of the bag. I did so after the second one. The hardened silicone was removed by using a cutter to scrape off the part that folded back into the back of the fittings and then pinching it off with pincers. I'm glad it became cleanly. But if only I'd realized that sooner! I didn't want my customers to do this work because of the danger of using a blade for detailed work.
