> Green Sandalwood
Natural Green Sandalwood, initially yellowish, will turn a shade greener over time as it oxidizes.
Green Sandalwood is rich in oil and fragrant. Its natural, beautiful wood grain offers a smooth, delicate touch, an enduring fragrance, and vibrant, ever-changing colors.
The wood beads clearly display decorative natural patterns, like ancient growth rings, exuding an aura of antiquity.
The magical beauty of Green Sandalwood is often revered as an auspicious object, known as "Sacred Sandalwood."
When Green Sandalwood is not worn and kept in a sealed environment for extended periods, it may develop a frosty appearance (not mold). This is a normal phenomenon and can be easily wiped away with a cotton cloth; there is no need to worry.
> Color
All photos are taken in natural light. Colors may vary due to differences in equipment, weather conditions, and screen displays. Please be aware!
Cinnabar is a natural mineral. Even within the same category of cinnabar, different batches will exhibit natural color variations.
Purple-Gold Sand is a deep red with a noticeable granular texture.
King's Sand is deeper than bright red, fine, and lustrous.
Red Sand is a bright red, and even finer.
Cinnabar ornaments are made by molding and pressing cinnabar powder with amber powder, followed by detailed hand carving.
Due to the differing craftsmanship for round beads and complex carved pieces, round beads are typically highly polished for a glossy finish, while complex carvings are micro-polished to preserve the clarity and detail of the patterns, usually resulting in a matte finish.
> Spring Sowing, Autumn Harvest
In this world, all that unfolds, all that is poetic, all that is beautiful, often happens naturally, much like the turning of the seasons.
Learn to slow down, clear your mind, treat life with gentleness, respect the power of time, and allow everything to grow naturally, like a tree—focused and fearless, growing clear, distinct rings.
Our craftsmanship is just the same!!
> Cinnabar
The earliest written records refer to cinnabar with a single character, "丹" (dān). "丹" is an ideogram; in ancient times, miners would dig shafts and extract minerals from within. Thus, the character "丹" is essentially the character "井" (jǐng, well) with a dot in the middle, signifying something extracted from a dug mine. This substance was cinnabar.
Because cinnabar is red, often a deep red, "朱" (zhū) also means red. Later, cinnabar was called "朱砂" (zhūshā). "丹" and "朱" describe the color, and "砂" describes the shape, referring to irregular granular minerals.
The color of cinnabar is enduring. Chinese calligraphy and painting are known as "丹青" (dānqīng), where "丹" refers to cinnabar. A crucial component of pigments, the "Eight Treasures Seal Paste," also has cinnabar as its main ingredient.
From a Feng Shui perspective, cinnabar is collected from minerals imbued with the essence of the sun and moon, absorbing the positive energy of the heavens. Therefore, cinnabar possesses a strong yang magnetic field. We can observe that jade feels cool to the touch, while cinnabar held in the hand feels warm.
Since ancient times, cinnabar has been indispensable in Taoist practices such as drawing talismans, consecrating objects, warding off evil, and appeasing negative energies. Cinnabar has always been regarded as a supreme treasure for attracting good fortune, averting misfortune, suppressing malevolent influences, driving away evil spirits, inviting blessings, and accumulating wealth. It carries auspicious meanings of overwhelming good luck, prosperity, and well-being.
The "Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing" (Classic of Herbal Medicine) lists cinnabar as a superior substance, often used in medicinal treatments for its properties in calming the spirit, detoxifying, and alleviating insomnia and excessive dreaming.
Living in modern times, owning one or two cinnabar artifacts can also cultivate self-discipline, nourish the eyes, and soothe the heart.
> Identification
All cinnabar products in our store are high-content cinnabar and possess a significant weight. You can use the following methods for identification:
- Burning: Cinnabar will turn black when heated. (Please heat indirectly. It is generally not recommended to directly burn the finished product, as controlling the time and extent of heating is difficult. If it turns black after prolonged heating, it cannot be restored.)
- Drawing: Genuine cinnabar can draw an orange-red line on paper. (To avoid damaging the appearance of the finished product, please choose an inconspicuous area to draw the line, or use one of the gift beads for testing.)
> Care
1. Avoid Corrosives: Cinnabar is a mineral and is insoluble in water. However, frequent contact with chemicals such as soap and shower gel can corrode cinnabar.
2. Avoid Contact with Metals: The mineral elements in cinnabar can absorb metal ions, causing irreversible dulling or blackening of the cinnabar.
3. Avoid High Temperatures: The mercury sulfide component of cinnabar will only release at temperatures of 380 degrees Celsius. Therefore, as long as you avoid exposing cinnabar ornaments to high-temperature environments, you can wear them with peace of mind.
4. Avoid Collisions with Hard or Sharp Objects: Cinnabar has high hardness but is brittle; handle with care to prevent falls.
5. How to Clean: If your cinnabar becomes dirty, do not soak it in water, as this can alter its original luster! Gently wipe it several times with a slightly damp cotton cloth and let it air dry for a while.
6. Oiling Method: Apply a layer of white tea oil or olive oil to the finished product. Allow the stone surface to absorb the oil, making it more lustrous and radiant. If you apply oil, seal it in a brocade box, perhaps wrapped in a layer of cling film to prevent the oil from staining the brocade box lining.
7. Frequent Handling: Regularly handle the cinnabar ornaments worn on your body with your hands. This allows a very thin layer of oil to adhere to the stone surface, giving it an even more ancient and elegant appearance over time.
