Due to the abundant natural gas and silica sand production areas, Hsinchu was an important production area for Taiwan’s glass industry in the past. The production process of the work is completed by manual blowing and thermoplastic technology. The glass paste is rolled by a blowpipe and then heated and shaped repeatedly by hand tools such as tweezers, newspapers, and saws. This technology was first developed by Japanese during the Japanese Occupation. The masters were introduced and passed down from Taiwanese masters after decades of evolution. A piece of work takes tens of minutes to make and a whole day of cooling down, and the master is sweating in front of a kiln with a high temperature of 1,000 degrees, and it is baked and sculptured several times back and forth. The production speed of the machine is 10 seconds.
