Shimenawa, also known as shimen-kazari, hyo-sho, and shichigosan-nawa, is a traditional Japanese rope knot for warding off evil, purification, and bringing good fortune. Shimenawa carries the meaning of welcoming deities and establishing sacred boundaries. When hung on shrine torii gates, it signifies the separation between deities and humans. When people hang it on their doors, entrances, or place it in their homes, it is meant to ward off misfortune and attract good luck, eventually evolving into a symbol of blessings and good fortune. Made with a mix of dried and preserved flowers. As each piece is handmade, it may not be exactly 100% identical to the photo. Please avoid direct sunlight. Keeping the environment dry and well-ventilated allows it to be stored for over two years. If dusty, gently blow with a hairdryer on a cool setting or lightly brush with a soft brush. Dried flowers are fragile and some minor shedding during transit is normal. We will do our best to package and ship them with care.
