Its structure ingeniously combined eight galloping horses ascending from a revolving base, with a central horse standing gracefully atop, embodying the vigor, dynamism, and revival of the Year of the Horse. This main lantern, exceeding twenty meters in total height, was situated at the center of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall exhibition space. The base integrated robust modern steel with classical festive colors, symbolizing mountains. The eight horses on the base utilized bas-relief techniques and folk art paper-cutting methods, spiraling upwards in a fluid motion. The main horse lantern at the summit of the mountain eschewed common depictions of frantic running, leaping, or fantastical forms. Instead, it adopted a poised stance, facing the sky and rooted in the universe, with a serene neigh against the wind, firmly expressing the spirit of "Majestic Horse Ushering in Peace." The spirited mane and flowing tail vividly captured the horse's robust elegance. The main horse, akin to a jade tree swaying in the wind, complemented the circling eight horses, naturally radiating a poised and majestic aura, ready to spring into action. The main lantern for the 2002 Year of the Horse showcased three captivating appearances through new craftsmanship, adapting to daytime, nighttime, and the interplay of sound and light. Imagine the impressive large-scale sculpture by day, illuminated with dazzling lights by night, its brilliance transforming with the rhythm of the music. This year's sound and light show for the main lantern integrated musical rhythms with flashing lights, divided into five stages: "Myriad Horses Assembled," "Wild Prairie Gallop," "Across the Land," "Inspiring Ascent," and "Serene Neigh Against the Wind."
