Two layer silver beads necklace with flower pattern pendant (N0129)

The necklace is composed of two strands and closes with a simple handmade silver hook. Each strand is made with different bead types, the longer strand (42 cm long) that also contains round pendant decorated with stamped flower motifs is made of small grain silver beads, while the shorter strand (41 cm long) is made with tube-shape silver beads. This necklace is a part of our Genesis collection that explores the beauty of mindfulness of the traditional silver-making process, especially the handmade silver beads that are meticulously crafted and beaded one by one. It is an ancient technique typical of Thai Karen hill-tribe silversmiths and is nowadays practiced by only a handful of hill-tribe families in rural areas of Northern Thailand. Each family specializes in producing different bead shape as there are numerous styles. All our jewelry is crafted entirely by hand by the Thai Karen hill tribe people who are known for their traditional silversmithing skills. We would like to transmit these ideas to whoever will be wearing our jewelry as a reminder of conscientiousness during their everyday activities. We believe that jewelry created in this way does more than just "look good", it also "does good" and gives back to the whole community, as the sales help preserve and keep alive the traditional arts and crafts.
