Bolster Design / Integrated Construction
Thanks to the bolster design, the blade and handle are tightly joined, unlike traditional knives where gaps at the seam between the blade and handle can trap water and residue. This makes cleaning simple—just a rinse and a wipe—enhancing the knife's durability and improving hygiene.

Professional knives offer excellent sharpness and edge retention,
but issues like rust, chipping, breakage, or warping
can lead to significant trouble with daily maintenance and subsequent repairs.
To combat Taiwan's humid climate, Ye Tian uses high-hardness stainless steel combined with composite steel technology,
creating a steel that is both sharp and exceptionally durable.
This allows average home users to safely experience professional-grade cutting performance
while eliminating the need for complicated knife maintenance.

San Mai steel is a composite steel technology originating from Japan,
featuring tough outer layers protecting a high-hardness inner core.
This achieves a balance of outer toughness and inner hardness.
It protects the sharp yet brittle inner steel,
enabling the knife to possess both sharpness and durability.
This is the key technology for bringing professional knives into the home.

Each Ye Tian knife is hand-sharpened by a master craftsman, a skill honed over years of experience that cannot be replicated by automated machinery.

Daily Care:
Regarding Knife Cleaning:
1. Wash with water or mild detergent only. Dishwashers and drying machines are not recommended.
2. After washing, allow the knife to air dry in a cool, ventilated area.
3. Avoid using steel wool or similar abrasive cleaning tools, as they can damage the blade's surface and shorten its lifespan.
Regarding Food Preparation Maintenance:
1. Always wash thoroughly after cutting acidic or sticky foods.
2. Always thaw frozen foods before cutting with the knife to prevent damage.
3. Use knives on a cutting board. Using them on hard surfaces like concrete, tile, or ceramic plates will accelerate blade wear.
4. Slicing knives are suitable for paring and slicing, but not for chopping or hacking hard ingredients, which can cause edge rolling or chipping. For bone-in ingredients, a cleaver is recommended.
Regarding Handle Care:
1. Under normal use, the handle requires no special maintenance.
2. Important Notes:
*It is not recommended for non-professionals to sharpen knives themselves using whetstones or similar tools.
*Dishwashers and drying machines are not recommended for cleaning.
Ye Tian History
In the early 1920s, the founder, Ye A-tian, established the "Ye A-tian Blacksmith Shop," producing "agricultural tools" using traditional blacksmithing methods. Sickles, hoes, and pruning shears produced at the time were widely known and marked the humble beginnings of Ye Tian's knife-making legacy.
In 1980, the fourth generation took over and began producing household kitchen knives, extensively applying Japanese composite steel technology. The company transitioned into an OEM factory for various brands, producing knives for numerous cutlery brands across Taiwan.
In 1990, the company was renamed "Ye Tian Cutlery Co., Ltd." To this day, over a century later, Ye Tian, starting with knives suited for Taiwanese people, combines modern design with a century of craftsmanship to create a high-quality, locally Taiwanese knife brand that aligns with modern living habits. With a physical store, the company continues to serve the public with dedication.
