The snake bone series, oh my goodness! If you're deep into the pre-owned world, you must know about this. The urban legend says it's a must-have for intermediate collectors?
I vaguely recall reading something like that online, but it's not necessarily true! My very first pre-owned bag was a snake bone piece!
I fell in love at first sight with a particular snake bone bag, the kind of "love at first sight that lasts a lifetime" feeling (so dramatic...XD)!
Anyway, that's how it happened. I knew nothing about pre-owned items back then, but I loved it so much I didn't think twice and just went for it (luckily, it wasn't a mistake).
That's how I entered the pre-owned world and never looked back. In recent years, I've almost exclusively bought pre-owned bags!
I only got to know LOEWE after diving into the pre-owned scene, and once I learned about it, I was completely captivated... Honestly, LOEWE is my favorite brand right now.
Anyone who falls for pre-owned items understands a fundamental truth: "new isn't always better." The quality of most pre-owned items is incredibly high.
So high that even after many years, they're still better than modern new releases! The craftsmanship and material quality are vastly different.
You can easily find complaints online about the declining quality of new items from major brands... there are so many on PTT!
LOEWE is a brand that, even with some decline in quality in modern pieces, maintains a certain standard.
This is mainly because the brand itself focuses on the quality of the leather and explores its potential uses.
Personally, I describe it simply as LOEWE enjoying developing technical possibilities from an artistic perspective.
Among these, besides the various applications of Nappa leather (like the small pouch bags), there's this relatively niche snake bone series,
which is my absolute favorite LOEWE series, my number one. (LOEWE loves snake bone, Celine loves gold rings, all that glitters).
To briefly explain the snake bone series: during the 1990 Olympics in Barcelona, coinciding with the World Expo in Seville,
Madrid was chosen as the European Capital of Culture. LOEWE wanted to promote Spanish culture, so they designed this series. (Do your own research for details).
Therefore, the design of this series is truly special, combining two completely different materials! It exudes an exotic feel!
The bold color choices and striking contrasting designs create a strong visual impact! In essence, each snake bone piece is a work of art! An extremely rare series!
The price of snake bone items is generally not cheap. If your budget is limited, consider starting with smaller accessories. However, even these small accessories are uncommon and hard to find.
This item is a keychain. Yes, it's for keys, car keys, or can be used as a bag charm. It makes a gentle "ding ding" sound when you walk,
not loud enough to be annoying, because it's light and has a clear, crisp "ding ding" sound that's never harsh. The key point is its entry-level price!
⚐⚑˒˒ The keychain is in excellent condition, rated as beautiful! A rare accessory piece, this is a rare earthy-toned coffee x gold keychain.
Let's talk about the most substantial part, the golden snake bone. It's a rich golden yellow, with no gold plating loss or oxidation/discoloration! A very cute little snake bone!
The leather part is LOEWE's signature Nappa lambskin, with minimal signs of use, almost imperceptible.
The leather trim is in great condition, with no significant peeling or obvious wear. The leather is intact. The clasp is engraved with "LOEWE."
The entire clasp is golden yellow. Upon very close inspection, you'll see very fine lines, which are signs of use. But overall, it's super clean with no gold loss!
Generally, the condition is excellent. I've only had the black version of this clasp before, and it was quickly snapped up by regular customers because the value for money is truly high.
This color is even more beautiful, and it's a rare light-toned, very clean piece. It's definitely an affordable and beautiful entry-level snake bone piece,
and it comes with its original dust bag. It's a great choice for those on a lower budget who love unique small items! The condition is so good it can even be given as a gift.
❍ The photos were taken by the owner personally under natural sunlight. Light conditions can vary depending on the time, so color differences cannot be ruled out.
Additionally, I have more detailed photos, but I can't upload them here. Please message me to request them! Due to the special nature of pre-owned orders,
we do not accept returns or exchanges. Therefore, please examine the photos carefully before placing an order.

The main reason I love pre-owned bags is that the materials from older eras are far superior to modern new releases.
In the past, most pre-owned items were ✦ handmade, with the warmth of human touch rather than mass production.
The craftsmanship was definitely much more delicate than machines, just like how everyone loves products made by skilled artisans!
However, today, most processes are done by machines with minimal human assembly, losing the delicacy of the past.
I think the simplest and most direct way to see this is to compare the detailed patterns of vintage monogram prints with the recent "revival" versions from various brands.
The level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is completely different. If you love monograms, you should look for pre-owned items! Truly!
In terms of style, older eras were more ✦ simple, classic, and timeless. Nowadays, many new designs are actually revivals of older styles.
However, new releases are priced higher than their vintage counterparts. New designs are usually based on older models, with added details or modifications.
The final product often ends up being more complex (or strange...) than the older versions. I believe as we grow older, we all understand one thing:
the simpler, the more enduring! As we age, our clothing choices often return to basic styles because the more basic, the more versatile.
The quality of materials in older items is also better than in new ones. Anyone who understands ✦ leather can tell. The materials used in new releases are mostly inferior to older ones.
This is mainly because the cost of high-quality materials is too high now, and their availability is not as abundant as before. Earth's resources are dwindling!
Furthermore, back then, brands didn't have as many "ubiquitous" branches as they do now... Most customers had a certain income and certain expectations for the finished product.
There wasn't the "fast fashion culture" of today; a bag was expected to be used for many years.
The difference between new and old eras is very evident in the ✦ hardware. The hardware on many new releases oxidizes and discolors after just one or two years,
but older models usually don't. Besides the high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with real K gold!
It's worth mentioning that Chanel Vintage is expensive for a reason; many of its clasps and chains contain real gold, certified by gold merchants!
So, even for Vintage bags from as early as the 60s or 70s, if properly preserved, the hardware can still shine brightly today.
As for new models available now, from what I know, none of the brands use K gold in their hardware anymore, which is why it oxidizes so easily.
Many people say buying Vintage bags is a form of alternative investment because they rarely depreciate and often appreciate in value.
This is because the number of pre-owned bags in good condition on the market is decreasing. For every one that disappears, there's one less. Remember, each of these is a discontinued item.
The number that exists in the world is finite, so they will only become fewer, more expensive, and harder to find.
Moreover, many brands increase their prices periodically, and each increase drives up the prices in the pre-owned market.
Or, if a brand releases a "reissue," the Vintage reference or similar styles will see a sharp price increase!
Add to this the fact that Japanese and Korean celebrities have been favoring vintage items in recent years. Once a celebrity is seen with a particular item, its price skyrockets, truly skyrockets.
Because during that period, many people will frantically search for that item or a similar alternative, and the prices of those few items will increase exponentially...
So, Vintage is truly a case of "buy early, enjoy longer; buy late, pay more" (this isn't an advertising slogan... it's a truth in the pre-owned world...).
This is my personal experience; I regret entering the market late for many series and couldn't find them, or if I did, they were exorbitantly priced.
But the problem is, even if you know it's an exorbitant price, you're forced to buy it because waiting will only mean a higher price (unless the condition is poor).
I'm often asked about bag maintenance (ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ). I'll include a small note with the details inside the bag, so don't worry.
My personal habit is to take them out for maintenance when I'm organizing my closet during seasonal changes (so it's a big task every season...|||).
Actually, pre-owned bags aren't that troublesome. Once you're new to them, you just need to get used to regular maintenance and cherishing your bag. Once it becomes a habit, it's not difficult.
The materials of pre-owned bags are inherently excellent. As long as you don't use them roughly and store them properly, they can easily last another ten years and be passed down to your daughter!
Every pre-owned bag is one I love and have collected, so I hope you will love it too and be able to preserve it ☪︎ *.。
☾︎.*·̩͙ If you're interested in purchasing, please message me for details. Feel free to ask anything. For pre-owned items, I'm looking for customers who understand and appreciate them ⸜❤︎⸝.
