This resin, after prolonged oxidation, turns a golden-yellow hue. As the surface of the sandalwood darkens with age, the resin's color becomes increasingly pronounced, appearing golden with a metallic sheen. These are particularly noticeable under light. **Care and Play** For small-leaf sandalwood, avoid contact with any liquids. Begin by handling it with cotton gloves. Some color shedding is normal in the initial stages! For the first one to three months, you can handle it for about half an hour to an hour daily, then store it in a box. After a period, reduce the frequency of handling, perhaps once every three days, storing it for four days. Handle it once a week, storing it for a week! Repeat this process until a patina forms on the bead's surface (handling and friction stimulate the beads to secrete oils, which then oxidize with the air when left to rest).
