The works from Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio do not pursue mass production. Each creation possesses a unique concept and design, breathing life into the pieces through purely hand-pinching or wheel-throwing processes. Every piece is one of a kind. The works from the studio are created together by my husband and me, hence the signatures "Ping" or "Fan." Some pieces also bear the seal of "Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio." Truly unique!!

**1. What is the origin of the works?**
We primarily use clay from the USA, Japan, and Miaoli, Taiwan, for our creations.

**2. What is the wood-firing process?**
Clay from the USA, Japan, and Miaoli is mixed in different proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-pinching (not on a pottery wheel) to slowly form the shape. After the basic form is achieved, the body lines are refined, and then it is polished to complete the greenware.
Once in the kiln, it undergoes a five-day, four-night continuous wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the pieces, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the flame patterns within the kiln swirl around the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame markings.
After five days and four nights of ash and flame interactions, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form! Due to the different kiln atmospheres during each wood-firing, the ash deposits and flame patterns on every piece are unique, making each creation truly one of a kind!

**3. What should esteemed guests be aware of?**
Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. The works are purely handmade, and will retain traces of the crafting process. Slight variations may occur during the firing process, such as minor imperfections in the rim or small production scratches. These are normal and do not affect usability, please understand!
