Blown Glass Vase: Red Flower Diamond Pattern

This is a vase crafted from blown glass. It features three layers: a very deep red on the outermost layer, followed by white directly beneath it, and clear glass at the base. After shaping and blowing the colored glass, it is cooled once. Then, the surface is masked in the pattern's shape and carved using sandblasting. It is then reheated and blown again to finish. The pattern is lightly carved randomly to avoid a heavy impression. The outermost red layer has slightly shrunk during firing, pulling the white layer beneath it to create an outer rim. The patterned areas are raised by the thickness of the colored glass. As seen in the fifth photo, there are areas from the mid-section to the base where the red glass has reduced and shines with a metallic luster. A flat piece of clear glass has been attached to the bottom. It has been shaped into a form resembling a vase with a raised neck. This vase is slightly larger than other "pattern vases," so the price has been adjusted accordingly. The patterns are not machine-printed; each one is hand-drawn or created by cutting masking tape, resulting in slightly wavering lines and variations in shape. It is somewhat thick and has a substantial weight, making it suitable for arrangements with tall or abundant flowers, as well as branches, providing stable support.
