The main design is traditional cloisonne, and the circles are not placed in as many numbers as in cloisonne. In terms of ratio, the Shippo:Maru ratio is 3:1, which is also an attempt to move away from the traditional style of design which divides the whole into equal parts. Shippo is an auspicious motif whose infinite interconnectedness represents human connections and reflection. In our workshop, we often use an original design called "Tama Shippo", which places a jewel in the center of the cloisonne, but this design uses a basic, traditional cut of cloisonne, with nothing cut in the center.
