Crafted locally in Peru, these incense cones differ from the easily dissolvable, loosely packed ones found elsewhere. They are firm, made from wood powder, and designed to burn slowly and steadily.
Each pack contains 15 cones, with each cone measuring 3.5cm in height and 2cm in diameter (previously 10 cones per pack).
Incan Palo Santo, revered for millennia by indigenous peoples of the Americas, holds profound significance. It was traditionally used in sacred rituals for its ability to purify spaces, connect with the spirit world, and as offerings to the divine. Lesser-grade wood was burned in ceremonies, while mid-grade was crafted into ceremonial staffs and wands. The highest quality was considered so sacred that its harvesting was forbidden, reserved solely for worship.
In Peru, Incan Palo Santo is designated as a national sacred wood, and its harvesting is strictly regulated. Only a select few companies hold legal permits for sustainable harvesting.
The name "Palo Santo" translates to "holy wood" in South America, a fitting description as it transforms into a sacred and medicinal substance from birth, growth, to death. Typically, a Palo Santo tree lives for 80-90 years before naturally falling. It must then cure for 4-10 years to complete its transformation. Only through this complete process does the wood's full potential and efficacy develop. For thousands of years, Palo Santo has been used by shamans and mystics in Peru and Ecuador. Even today, its use in rituals by shamans and healers in the Andes mountains remains prevalent.
