This is a necklace strung with dice beads, aurora beads, record beads and pink Masai, turquoise green chevron, pink Masai, rhodonite, turquoise, and ethnic brass. The green and shocking pink beads are from Africa, known as record beads or Balkan beads. They are said to have once been made from vinyl records. Their colorful and vibrant appearance evokes the landscapes of Africa! (Record bead size: diameter 0.4cm) The faceted beads are vintage beads from the Czech Republic. Their surfaces have a faint, aurora-like shimmer. Depending on the angle of the light, the shimmer can be seen on all facets. Modern beads have a dazzling shimmer, but vintage ones have a very soft glow, appearing almost clear at first glance. The larger beads were made in molds, while the smaller ones were cut. These beads are in relatively good condition, though some show minor scratches. (Large aurora bead size: height 0.7cm, width 0.8cm) The brass beads above the aurora beads are shaped like lotus flowers. They are contemporary but are sturdily made and quite charming. The pink beads are antique Bohemian beads called dice beads (early 20th century). As the name suggests, they are named for their resemblance to dice. They have a deep sapphire blue color that becomes even more captivating when held up to the light! (Dice bead size: height 0.8cm, width 0.5cm) The oval, transparent beads near the clasp are antique Bohemian beads. The slightly muted pink, bun-shaped beads are pink Masai. They are called this because the Masai people favored wearing them. The turquoise green beads with striped patterns are antique Venetian beads called chevron. Both have a four-layer structure. Chevron beads mean "mountain shape" in English (Rosetta in Italian). They are also called the aristocracy of beads, holding significant value and meaning. Turquoise blue chevron beads, in particular, are rare and difficult to obtain!! The pink striped beads are also antique Venetian beads. We've paired perfectly round rhodonite with faceted turquoise.
