Thank you. The Black Tongue, *Haworthia tortuosa*, also known as the Twisted Haworthia or Pagoda, features triangular, pointed leaves arranged in a stacked, layered growth pattern. It's a type of succulent with stiff leaves from the *Haworthia* genus within the Asphodelaceae family. Its leaves have a firm texture to the touch! While not a fast grower, it shares the characteristic of many Asphodelaceae succulents: it "prolifically reproduces," easily developing small offsets that can be propagated. With adequate light, its leaves turn a deep, inky green. Succulents from the Asphodelaceae (formerly Aloeaceae) family generally thrive through the summer months and are robust and easy to care for. Many enjoy incorporating them into arrangements, and they suit a more reserved placement, content in a corner without competing for light, making them quite shade-tolerant. Direct sunlight (where shadows are cast) is better reserved for succulents that require more light and are prone to etiolation (stretching). Watering frequency should be adjusted based on your environment. For outdoor cultivation with ample sunlight and good ventilation, water once every 1-2 weeks, ensuring the entire plant absorbs moisture. For potted arrangements, water until it drains from the drainage holes. This method is suitable for spring, autumn, and winter.
