This plate is made from thinly stretched minge-do clay, which develops speckles when fired, offering a characteristic earthenware warmth. A decorative stamped pattern encircles the inner rim like a wreath, followed by a brushed application of turquoise glaze. The stamped indentations hold the glaze, creating a deeper color that makes the pattern stand out, resulting in a vibrant piece. The rim of the plate is accented with a subtle touch of underglaze, known as "sabi," adding a classic ceramic accent. Measuring approximately 21cm, this plate is versatile enough for individual servings or for sharing. Perfect for breakfast with salad, toast, and a fried egg. All stages of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and electric potter's wheel. Ceramics that have received this treatment do not require a pre-use soaking (mezome) at home. You can use them immediately after a light wash upon arrival. Items already treated will be shipped within 3 days.
