He lost his hearing when he fell from a tree when he was young, but the turning point in his life pushed him into a more mysterious world of art. The late National Palace Museum researcher Chu Ge called him a "national treasure" in art, and former Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts Director Li Junxian and art critic Lu Rongzhi both believed that he was like a "history of art." When he was young, he encountered war and chaos. He used the name "Ershi" to resist violence and criticism with realistic woodcut prints. After returning to Taiwan after the restoration, he joined forces with art and cultural friends to establish the "Modern Printmaking Society", "May Art Society", and "Modern Eyes", paving the way for the development of modern art in Taiwan. In 1957, he began to create prints using sugarcane boards, which were in abundant production at the time, and brought the characteristics of sugarcane boards to the extreme. His print work "Sting" won the first prize in the first "Korea International Print Biennale" in 1970. In his later years, he shifted his focus to iron sculpture creation.
