Glossy black round vase

Original vessels created by ceramic artist Morishita Shingo. The lid was created by woodworker Yasushi Shimizu to fit the container. With this combination, a new "lidded container" was created. What we would like to introduce to you today is a medium-sized round jar-shaped piece. The body has a glossy black color and a round shape. I feel overwhelmed by the color. The inside is also finished in the same black color. The lid is made of Zelkova wood, which has vibrant grain that matches the impressive vessel. The shape is kept simple in line with the flow of the vessel, but the undulating wood grain provides a nice accent. The walnut knob that grows out of it gives the impression of a rather large twig sticking out, giving the whole piece a nut-like feel. The overwhelming luster of the vessel and the natural color of the lid are well balanced, making this a piece with a strong presence. When using it as a vase, place the lid to the side so that it becomes part of the scenery. It can be used as a pot to put something in, as an object, as a flower vase... So, what would you put here? How do you use it? ■Material: Container/Ceramics Lid: Zelkova, walnut ■Size: Diameter approx. 180mm, height approx. 225mm *The lid has a ceramic finish. It is resistant to moisture, but if left unattended it may stain, so if moisture gets on it, wipe it off as soon as possible. Also, do not use a dish dryer, dry it in direct sunlight, or use a microwave, as these may cause cracks or warping. Also, the lid is not airtight, so it is not suitable as a storage container for items that dislike moisture.
