While the Levi's 1880 jacket may not be as widely recognized as the Type 1, it's an indispensable piece for denim enthusiasts. We aimed to infuse our own ideas, redesigning several key details: The front yoke has a slightly adjusted central slant, square pockets are replaced with rounded ones secured by rivets. The collar stand is crafted from jacquard indigo fabric, and the three pleats on the front are transformed into double-folded pleats reminiscent of the Type 1 jacket. A single pleat is added to the back, along with adjustable buckle straps, and so on. The overall silhouette borrows from the Type 1 jacket, being slightly shorter than the 1880, pairing exceptionally well with high-waisted trousers. We've introduced our own design language, hoping that after you've experienced various Type 1 and Type 2 denim jackets, you'll discover a different kind of raw denim jacket, one imbued with our fresh perspective. This is a natural indigo denim fabric that will naturally fade and transfer color during daily wear, developing unique wear patterns that reflect your journey. This is a normal characteristic and not a quality issue. **About the Fabric** Carefully selected 15oz selvedge denim made from 100% high-quality Pakistani long-staple cotton, woven on a vintage narrow loom. The fabric has a texture that is both fine and coarse, with distinct grain. Cotton from different regions offers unique advantages. We opted for Pakistani cotton over American or Xinjiang cotton because its fibers are longer than American cotton and its natural color is yellower than Xinjiang cotton. This latter point is crucial for us, as it allows the underlying yarns to reveal a naturally aged, yellowish hue after extended wear. This creates a rich vintage feel, authentically capturing the visual aesthetic of early workwear. The surface is rich in fine fibers, exhibiting an uneven texture. The vertical fading after aging becomes even more layered. The weaving speed of narrow looms is exceptionally slow, leading to their gradual replacement in the market by modern high-speed looms due to inefficiency. However, this type of fabric with its authentic selvedge (which we call selvedge denim) can only be produced by these old narrow looms. The width of the fabric is only half that of modern loom fabric, and coupled with its slow speed, the time and labor costs increase significantly. This narrow width fabric is thus more precious. Discovering that this fabric was woven by machines older than your grandfather adds a profound sense of meaning. **About the Buttons/Hardware** All buttons and hardware are made in Japan by YKK. To enhance the historical authenticity of this vintage-inspired garment, we selected Japanese brass buckles, distressed UFO-shaped buttons, and laurel-leaf rivets, all with a classic motif. The exquisite distressing technique imbues a strong sense of age, perfectly embodying the spirit we aim to convey. **About Washing** This is a natural indigo denim fabric that will exhibit color loss, which is not a quality defect. Please avoid purchasing if this is a concern. Wash separately from light-colored clothing. Hand wash or machine wash as normal. Avoid prolonged soaking and direct sunlight. Creases and marks formed during wear are inherent characteristics of the fabric, contributing to its authentic vintage texture. **Sizing** (The garment has undergone pre-shrinking.
