Our artisanal tie-dye throws are handmade by craftsman in Yunnan(southwestern China). This group has been creating incredible tie-dye pieces using techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries.
Tie-dye pieces made by their ancestors used to be sent as tributes to ancient Chinese emperors. These pieces are made of cotton and use natural, plant-based dyes. Every piece is finished by hand, with additional painting, stitching, and dyeing. Every step displays artistry and mastery of a complicated craft.
The unique patterns are ancient patterns, which is Chinese classic folk-art.
Indigo and white are most traditional and popular, as indigo comes from plants that are plentiful in the region, while white is considered auspicious. This stunning piece is perfect for using as a tablecloth, a wall hanging, a throw, a wrap, or as a beautiful accent anywhere in the house where a vibrant splash of color is needed. Because the dyes are natural and plant-based, the color may lighten slightly after the first wash.
Washing instruction：
This product was handmade using plant dyes without chemicals.
The colors are designed to fade slightly after wash.
Before first wash, soak the product in a solution of salt and water at room temperature for 30 minutes to set colors.
Do not machine wash.
Hand wash separately with mild soap.
Do not wring dry.
Cool iron only.
Do not expose to direct sunlight.
