[Important Clarification] The sages sold in this shop are not Mexican Sage (Salvia divinorum), which was classified as a Schedule III controlled substance by the Ministry of Justice in March 2022. They are entirely different varieties with distinct purposes and effects.
Firstly, the scientific name for Mexican Sage is *Salvia divinorum*, while California White Sage is *Salvia apiana*. These are two distinct species. Just as there are thousands of varieties of lavender or mint, there are numerous varieties of sage. We understand that different varieties and origins of lavender essential oil yield different benefits; sage is no different.
The primary purpose of White Sage (*Salvia apiana*) is for purification and clearing negative energy. Mexican Sage (*Salvia divinorum*), on the other hand, contains salvinorin A, a psychoactive compound. Inhaling salvinorin A can induce short-lived but intense hallucinogenic effects, similar to LSD. Furthermore, literature suggests that the abuse of Mexican Sage can lead to mental disorders and schizophrenia, with documented cases of suicide linked to its use in the United States.
White Sage also differs in appearance from Mexican Sage. Therefore, rest assured, the sage I sell is not Mexican Sage. Burning it will not cause poisoning, addiction, or hallucinogenic effects that harm your health.
Additionally, we strongly advise against selling Mexican Sage to prevent harm to public health. For those considering or already using it, please refrain from engaging with dangerous substances. Think of your loved ones and your own well-being. It's best to stop before it's too late.

Difference between Bundles and Loose Leaves:
Many customers ask about this. There is no difference; it's precisely the same product. Let me explain why bundles exist. In North America, ancient ceremonies were often held outdoors. Indigenous people would tie branches of White Sage together. Lighting a bundle directly was easy, requiring no container, and produced ample smoke. The bundled form emerged out of practicality and convenience, a method adapted to their environment. The same principle applies to other herbs like juniper, cedar, black sage, and blue sage.
White Sage Introduction:
This White Sage comes from California and is considered the most potent variety for purification. White Sage is a flowering perennial native to the southwestern United States, characterized by its tall, woody stems and small white flowers, growing on dry, sunny hillsides. For centuries, this aromatic plant has been extensively used in ceremonies by Native American tribes and is referred to as "Ritual White Sage," highlighting its significance to the indigenous peoples of America. Furthermore, Native Americans burned White Sage leaves to cleanse spaces and dwellings. In essence, White Sage was viewed by North American indigenous people as having medicinal and ceremonial uses, frequently burned for purification and to induce tranquility.
The sage sold in this shop is "Wild, Wild, Wild" harvested.
Product Dimensions:
Large Bundle: 7-9 inches (70-120g) (Shown in the second photo)
"Lollipop" Stick: Approximately 4 inches long (Approx. 17g-23g) (Shown in the third photo)
As these are agricultural products, I cannot control the exact size, length, or weight of the hand-tied bundles. I once asked my supplier if they could standardize the weight and length, but the answer was no! This is because Native Americans have always embraced a more natural, free-spirited approach. My purchase cost for each batch is the same, yet the seller provides bundles of varying sizes, even within the same batch. The imported goods are always fresh and of the highest quality!
How to Use:
For Cleansing Spaces: Directly light the sage branch and hold it (or break it apart and place it in an incense burner or censer). Move in a counter-clockwise direction around the space you wish to purify, whether it's a room, car, or any other area.
For Cleansing Individuals: Directly light the sage branch and hold it (or break it apart and place it in an incense burner or censer). Holding it about 15 cm from your body, trace the outline of your body with the smoke. Aim to allow the smoke to envelop you. This includes the top of your head, front, back, sides, and the soles of your feet (lift your feet). When moving sideways, hold your arms level and follow the contour of your body.
Alternatively, place it in a heat-resistant container in any space and allow the smoke to naturally purify the area.
Personal Experience:
The first time I encountered White Sage was at a friend's place, and I was immediately captivated. The aroma was unlike anything I had smelled before – incredibly fresh and comforting. As the white smoke curled upwards, I felt a sense of release and lightness, as if a heavy burden had been lifted. From that moment on, I fell in love with it. Because it originates from America and is not a native plant here, its scent is very unique. While many are familiar with mugwort for purification and warding off negativity, White Sage offers similar benefits with a distinct aroma. If mugwort is like a warrior cleansing a space with a weapon, White Sage is akin to a serene yet stable woman gently fanning the air. I personally use sage often to purify spaces, any space at all. After visiting places like hospitals or cemeteries, I like to smudge myself with sage before entering my home. I find its effects to be powerful and swift. A friend with a sensitive nose, prone to allergies, smelled the White Sage and found that they genuinely liked it. Of course, it has many other benefits (which cannot be elaborated on due to Taiwanese regulations). In short, sage is a potent protective and purifying item for myself, my family, and my friends. I wish for everyone to experience its unique scent, so I share it with you. My intention is not profit, but rather to share something so wonderful from the other side of the world.
May this White Sage protect you as it protects me and my family.
May this White Sage assist in purifying you as it assists in purifying me and my family.
May the freshness, comfort, and peace brought by this White Sage also extend to you.
***Below are some frequently asked questions about White Sage:
* Does White Sage produce a lot of smoke?
This question is inherently subjective, as your perception of "a lot of smoke" might differ from mine. However, you have control over the amount of smoke produced. Burning more leaves will naturally result in more smoke. If you only burn a single leaf, the smoke will be comparable to that of an incense stick. Therefore, dear customer, the volume of smoke is within your control!
* How should I use it?
$@-/$@(Shop Owner's Note: Another customer who hasn't read the product description. Haven't I explained it in detail in the "How to Use" section above? Could you please take a look?)
* How much should I use?
This is a very difficult question to answer definitively. Firstly, are you purifying a person or a space? What is the size of the space? A larger person may require more than a smaller person. A larger space will require more than a smaller space. Furthermore, the inherent condition of the person or space to be purified will influence the amount needed. For example, if you have a glass of water that is 20% dirty, a filter might clean it in two or three passes. However, if the water is 80% dirty, it might require seven or eight passes. Therefore, this is something you will need to experiment with yourself. Unless you have a very special friend who can see energy and tell you, you must rely on your own subjective judgment. If you feel it is not yet clean, purify it more. If you feel it is clean, then it is sufficient.
* Are loose leaves composed entirely of leaves, or do they include twigs?
Mostly, they are clusters containing twigs, with some pure leaves or small leaf fragments mixed in.
Storage: Store in a dry place, or use desiccants, run a dehumidifier, and sun-dry when the sun is strong.
