【Native Hong Kong Camellias】Postcards - Just Hong Kong X Another Mountain Man

Native Hong Kong Camellias Hong Kong has its own native camellias, such as "Hong Kong Tea" and "Daboushan Tea." Both are currently listed on the IUCN Red List, with "Hong Kong Tea" assessed as Endangered. "Hong Kong Tea" was first discovered in 1849 by Lieutenant Colonel Eyre, J. of the British Army stationed in Hong Kong. It is a native Hong Kong species characterized by its red flowers. In 1955, Lau Sung-bun of the Agriculture and Forestry Department discovered another native Hong Kong tea on Tai Mo Shan, named "Daboushan Tea," which was also called "Glaehourn Tea" after the then Governor, Sir Alexander Grantham. Today, "Hong Kong Tea," "Daboushan Tea," and "Red-Barked Camellia" are all included in the book "Rare and Precious Plants of Hong Kong" published by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. He represented Hong Kong at the Venice Biennale in 2005. Over the years, Mr. Wong's graphic design, advertising, and art creations have received over 600 awards locally and internationally, including D&AD Pencils and the Tokyo TDC Award. His works have been exhibited multiple times in Hong Kong and overseas, participating in approximately 200 exhibitions. He was awarded the Hong Kong Arts Development Award for Artist of the Year (Visual Arts) in 2011.
