This is a design from a Hong Kong stamp issued in 1954, which was Queen Elizabeth II's first set of definitive stamps for Hong Kong (prior to this, Hong Kong and other Commonwealth countries concurrently issued the 1953 Coronation Comprehensive Commemorative Stamp). This set is commonly referred to as the Queen Elizabeth II First Series stamps, and its design is largely consistent with the stamps of King George VI and Queen Victoria. There were a total of 14 denominations (5c, 10c, 15c, 20c, 25c, 30c, 40c, 50c, 65c, $1, $1.30, $2, $5, $10). The stamps were eventually replaced by the second series in 1962. This classic stamp design was also reissued as a commemorative stamp in 1978 for the Queen's Silver Jubilee.
