Antique German metal and glass Matador-Brenner oil lamp

Antique German metal and glass Matador-Brenner oil lamp. The Matador-Brenner was the most popular burner with flame-spreader (a wick that is folded in a circle) in continental Europe. It was developed by Ehrich & Graetz of Berlin toward 1895. This is a late 19th century version. This lamp has a mechanism to lift the burner collar so that the wick can be lit without having to take off the glass bulb. This oil lamp is undamaged with signs of aging and usage. There are surface marks on the metal and there is oxidation as well. There is some oil residue and discoloration in the glass body. It comes with an old and used wick. This wick raising knob work well, but the wick does not raise very high because it is old and has stiffened. The collar screws and unscrews smoothly.
