The Gathaithi Treatment Plant is the only treatment plant owned by the Gathaithi Farmer's Cooperative Society. It was established in 1967 and is located in the famous production area of Kenya - Nyeri, Aberdare Range and The volcanic red earth zone between Mt. Kenya has an average annual rainfall of 1100mm and an average temperature of about 16~26°C. There are two production seasons a year, namely the small production season from May to June and the large production season. The production season is from November to December, and the annual output is 60 tons. The cooperative is composed of 1,656 small farmer members. The cooperative provides a welfare system to help farmers receive education and increase capital investment in coffee cultivation. The long-term goal is to improve farmers' planting techniques and improve the quality and yield of coffee production.
