A very harmonious and playable chess set, most likely produced somewhere in the 1930s in the USSR, by an as-yet unidentified artel. The king is 9.5 cm tall and quite heavy.
The set appears fairly rarely. Certainly less often than BF2, ex-Averbakh, or the traditional Vsekokhudozhnik sets. In all my years of collecting, I have only come across it twice.
There are a few minor restorations, and several pieces have been repaired/reconstructed.
