・Y-153 Calendar Design This design emerged from the imagery of a botanical illustration, brought to life in a single creative flow. It also brought to mind a specific day in London, when I happened upon a charming stationery shop. In Europe, both now and perhaps in the past, stationery that balances functionality with such rich variety, as seen in Japan, felt less common. That London shop held a nostalgic ambiance. There, I purchased a calendar. Its design was remarkably simple, a straightforward grid presenting the entire month. Despite its simplicity, it became an item I treasured. The calendar I cherished back then featured a cover adorned with Dutch artwork, reminiscent of a piece I'd seen in a museum. It depicted flowers in striking shades of purple and burgundy. While I don't often use purple in my own work, (though colors might occasionally lean towards violet during mixing), that past self and my present self— The person then, eager to create yet often wrestling with the process, and the person now, who, perhaps after a few detours, can finally give form to what resides within. This design captures that very transformation. Perhaps this is what "the flow of time" signifies...
